Disinformation isn’t just about inaccurate or unverified news; it’s often designed to spread fear, doubt, or personal attacks. Its impact can range from individuals to entire communities, undermining trust in institutions and threatening democratic processes.
Here we explore different tactics and solutions for confronting disinformation. We gathered insights from public figures, experts, and human rights advocates who deal with disinformation in Slovenia.
The approaches are divided into two levels: the personal level, focusing on strategies individuals can use to protect themselves and their communication habits, and the political and systemic level, which covers institutional, legal, and educational measures to curb the spread of misleading information.
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive perspective: how individuals can safeguard themselves, and how society as a whole can build resilience against disinformation while maintaining an open and trustworthy public space.
